Zen Sekizawa's subtle approach to photography creates a core of complexities hidden to the viewer and essential to the image. These complex components represent her total perspective of a subject and subsequently force the viewer into a dialog about what makes things familiar yet alluring. Her images exist on the margins of commerce and art, proving successful in both realms.
Born and raised in Hollywood, CA Zen received her BFA in Photography from Art Center College of Design and has worked on numerous national and international advertising, music and editorial projects. Her clients include Reebok, Nokia, Cadiilac, Aveda, Elle, Vogue Hommes Japan, Mute, Stop Smiling and Wired Magazine.
